The Challenge

How do engineering and CAMO teams maintain operational oversight when reliability events, safety reports, maintenance records, and operational KPIs all live in different systems, each with its own structure, reporting logic, and operational context?

Although Norse already had internal Power BI capabilities, many aviation-specific workflows — from reliability monitoring and safety reporting to maintenance trend analysis still depended heavily on manual effort and deep operational expertise.

At the same time, analysing highly structured datasets from systems such as AMOS and Centrik introduced additional complexity, particularly when engineering teams needed to quickly identify operational risks, recurring defects, reporting trends, or maintenance performance issues.

Norse needed a more scalable and operationally focused way to:

To address these challenges, EXSYN supported Norse Atlantic Airways with the implementation of the suite of analytics apps, a centralized analytics platform engineered specifically for aviation engineering, maintenance, and reliability operations.

Built with deep aviation domain expertise, the suite of analytics apps consolidates operational and maintenance data from systems including AMOS and Centrik into a single, integrated environment. One of the most significant operational improvements for Norse Atlantic Airways has been the transformation of its reliability reporting process. By automating report generation and providing intuitive access to operational and reliability data, the Analytics Apps have reduced the manual effort required to prepare monthly reports. This allows engineering teams to focus less on data preparation and more on analysing trends, identifying emerging issues, and developing recommendations that support proactive reliability management.

Workorder Mismatch Analysis

The suite of analytics apps enables comparison and analysis of discrepancies between AMOS workorders and ELB records, supporting improved data consistency and greater accuracy in maintenance tracking.

Safety Management System (SMS) Monitoring

By integrating safety reporting data from Centrik, the suite of analytics apps provides ongoing visibility into safety reporting trends, key operational risks, and category-level trend development. These insights support Safety Action Group meetings and preparedness for audits by EASA, UK CAA, and other regulatory authorities.

Engine Contract and Performance Tracking

The platform also supports engine-related operational analytics, including tracking engine usage against Rolls-Royce contractual requirements. Automated reporting workflows significantly reduced the manual effort previously required for monthly reporting activities.

Custom Engineering Dashboards and Reporting

Through the apps’ Developer functionality, Norse Atlantic Airways can also build customized dashboards, widgets, and reporting views tailored to specific engineering and operational requirements. This enables teams to create airline-specific analytics workflows and reporting structures aligned with their day-to-day operational processes.

Integration and Deployment

The implementation integrated operational and engineering data from AMOS together with additional datasets from systems including Centrik. While AMOS integration followed a relatively streamlined process, additional operational systems introduced more complex data structures that required selective extraction and modelling of relevant operational information.

Today, the Analytics Apps have become the primary entry point for monitoring maintenance and engineering performance across the organisation. Instead of navigating multiple AMOS modules to identify trends or potential issues, engineers and management teams can access intuitive dashboards that consolidate critical operational and reliability information into a single view. This enables users to identify exceptions, deviations, and emerging trends before carrying out more detailed investigations within AMOS, improving visibility while allowing engineering resources to focus where they deliver the greatest operational value.
